Let´s start with its name. The e-commerce heavyweight is named for the Amazon river, which trumps every other river in width. Amazon, the company, at 10 times the size of its immediate competitor , is definitely living up to its name. If we do a “negative search” on the amazon.com site, by entering the keyword "-searchwithoutresults” in the search field, what we come up with is the total number of items available on the entire site:

If we pay attention to the results, there are 445,006,801 total products available at the amazon.com site! Impressive, and light years ahead of the nearest market competitor, which is barely capable of turning out results in the hundreds of thousands.
